Brightview concrete work on a Central Florida jobsite

Concrete and flatwork

Need a new driveway?
We do both halves.

Most driveway jobs take two contractors. One to break the old slab out and haul it off, one to pour the new one. We do both under one contract.

Why it normally costs more than it should

A concrete company will pour you a driveway. Very few of them want to break out and haul away the one already there, so they sub it, mark it up, and you pay two mobilizations for one job. We already run the machine and the disposal, so the removal is not a separate trip you pay for twice.

  • Driveway removal and haul-off
  • New pour, broom or finished
  • Apron and sidewalk tie-ins
  • Walkways, patios and pool decks
  • Saw-cut control joints
  • Base, fill and compaction

What actually moves the price

Square footage is the easy part. What moves a driveway number is thickness, what is under it, whether a truck can reach it, and how far the debris has to travel. We tell you which of those we could see and which we are assuming.

  • Existing thickness and whether it is reinforced
  • Access width and overhead clearance for the truck
  • Base condition once the old slab is off
  • Apron work and whether the county right of way is involved
  • Disposal distance and current tipping rates
